AMERICAN STYLE GT RACING
V8 Thunder Cars is among the most spectacular and fastest circuit racing series in Northern Europe. The American-style, high-powered V8 machines deliver exciting racing and a throaty soundtrack. For drivers the car offers a unique challenge with raw handling and big power – without electronic driver aids.
The series’ history stretches back 40 years, originating from the legendary Nordic Camaro Cup. The current format was founded in 2013 when the series switched to tube frame chassis cars built by Howe Racing Enterprises, which are propelled by GM Racing built 6.2 litre V8’s. Technically the car lays somewhere in between of a NASCAR stock car, and a silhouette GT car.
V8TC cars have an intimidating road presence, measuring at 490x200cm. Regardless of their outlook, these cars are extremely nimble. Sensitive handling combined with a lot of power and aero grip guarantees that these relatively simple race cars can keep up with homologated European GT4 sportscars, with a fraction of the technology.
